24" Antique German Sonneberg- Motschmann (Wilhelm & Dehler) Doll in G00d Condition! There is just something so special about that French "look", captured in the faces of countless dolls from Paris that the German manufacturers just had to capture it themselves! This lovely young girl bears that unmistakably-French look, with her pale complexion blond hair and black pupil-less. Manufacturer is Wilhelm& Dehler, German manufacturers who distributed primarily in Paris, along with exports to the USA and England. What is particularly-special about her, however, is that unlike many of the French dolls, she has a top-quality wood&composition lower torso; composition and wood arms and legs jointed ankles and wrists, cloth covered midsection, upper arms and legs covered, called floating joints, whereas the French bodies often fell slightly short of the German quality. The body (MOTSCHMANN) is in good condition, and near-perfect, with a glossy varnish and intact composition. The costume makes her present very well, with nearly all of the pieces of her attire being antique. The cloth parts have been replaced over the years and show some damage due to the age of the material but only in the back. She comes with her original stand.
She has a wax socket head, with a nice pale complexion and cute dolly features. She has black pupil-less eyes, with painted upper & lower lashes, blond eyebrows and a closed pink mouth. She has painted yellow hair with a rose colored hair ribbon. She is on her original wood & composition body, fully-jointed, with jointed wrists and original finish. She stands a little over 24” tall.
She wears a black sheer dress with white lace trim on the sleeves. Underneath goes a white cotton antique full slip. White cotton antique pantaloons go all the way to the bottom, while she wears white cotton antique socks and a pair of newer black leather shoes with black laces and a black rose in the middle.
