    Description

I have here a charming little pin. the top is the pin and a link dangles the intaglio picture in a fancy frame. i think it's old, it think it's
Victorian. The picture is a young man sitting on a tree stump, playing a flute, BUT HE HAS WINGS!!! He's a fairy! right? researching vintage Intaglio jewelry, it led me to Italy. Italia. maybe? Intaglio means glass with a design dug out or a mold that has the picture pushed up. oppisite of a cameo, that is carved out of shell or rock. anyway. that's what i think. An Italian Fairy in a tiny picture pin. that's my story and i'm sticking to it, until someone corrects me, which is possible. oh, it came in an old envelope with a tiny note, "This is Dodies." Is Dodi a victorian name? (always thinkin'). Wiki says it's short for Delores or Dorothy. done.
