Rare Fire Pumper FD Bid Proposals: Specs, Real Photos : AFLCO, MACK, FWD c.1953

Description

A rare historical document collection of bid proposals/submissions by companies submitted to the Greenport Fire Department NY in August 1953 for the department purchase of a new fire truck/pumper. Lots of good stuff here: photos, bid specs, blueprints, equipment brocures submitted by  American-LaFrance Foamite Corp. Mack and FWD.  Treasure trove especially for Mack or Firematic collectors. Lot includes;
Proposal from American-LaFrance-Foamite Corporation submitted to Greenport Village August 19, 1953  for a 750 Triple Combination Pumper on a Ford F 800 chassis. Price is ,209.00. The proposal includes the specifications of the pumper. Images of fire vehicles and manufacturing plants on the inside of the jackets. There is the one bid but two copies submitted in red gloss folders. One folder is in very good condition. The other has minor scuffs and moisture stains on the back.
The bid submission for Mack includes 10 original photos and blueprints for a Mack Type 85 Fire Engine 750 gpm Combination Pumper submitted by Mack Motor Truck Corporation Maspeth, NY. Proposal is submitted in 2 gloss folders and include; blueprints with all of the specifications  along with written specifications in a tabular written index and the photos. Price submitted Aug 1953 for  ,845.
One Mack folder has 6 photos of pumpers, some from Islip, Huntington Manor, Tonawanda and Lawrence-Cedarhurst New York Fire Departments. The other has 4 photos of the pumper for Port Washington FD NY. The photos are all real and are about 8 by 10 inches. The 2 copies of blueprints are 24 by 18 inches.

The last is a bid submission from the Four Wheel Drive Auto Co.  Submitted Aug 1953.The pumper model was F75T-HP offerred for ,885. Folder and the brochure outlining the specs are all in good condition.
