    1938 Maryland Sample License Plate

    Ex-3-31-39
    Embossed white serial on green plate with borderline.
    Serial format "123-456".
    Serials issued 30-000 to approximately 508-000.
    Interesting info: in the 1930's, Maryland changed their calendar year registrations to expire annually in March.  It was 1938 when this was first reflected on license plates, therefore, there were no Maryland tags made with the year 1938 on them.
    This plate is a sample of the tags issued in 1938 and expiring on 3-31-39.  A unique tag and a fun conversation piece.
    The tag is in great used condition, some rust, dings, scuffs, all adding to the authentic, vintage look.
